PTI Stamp-a-faire 2014 - Renaissance

I think that I am not a fast traveler, I like to wander around a bit... I am probably the latest who has landed in the renaissance. 

I enjoyed Nichole's video on wax seals (here) and found the wax that I once bought on a french flea market. I also had a button and some stamps in my stash that are perfect for this technique. So I was ready for this challenge.....

...I though... Well, I made a total mess, burned my fingers and at the end my lighter was empty (a candle didn't work) and I created some messy blobs that are not worthy to put on a card. Since I had this card design in mind that I really wanted to make, I tried some polymer clay and that worked perfect. So I cheated a bit on this challenge, but hey, I tried, had some fun and was inspired... and isn't this Stamp-a-faire all about that?!

PTI Stamp-A-Faire #1 - faux Frescoes (2)

En nog eentje met dezelfde techniek. 

And another one with the same technique. Here I added some refill ink to the paste. I like how the fish stamp matches the fresco-look. 

Gebruikte materialen:

Stamps: PTI -  Mat stack 5 collection / PTI - 2012 Birthday tags / Old Fish stamp (I think it is from Magenta)
Die: Mat stack 5 / Circle die from Lawn Fawn
Ink: PTI  - Orange zest / Srampin up  - Night of Navy
Others: White embossing paste / Spatula / White Signo uniball pen / PTI Orange zest sadlestitch ribbon / white and navy cardstock.

PTI Stamp-A-Faire #1 - faux Frescoes (1)

Vandaag is het Stamp-a-Faire bij Papertrey Ink. Een hele dag filmpjes met technieken en Challenges om aan mee te doen. Ik ben niet zo een snelle kaartenmaker dus 1 challenge en techniek per dag is voor mij ruim voldoende. Hierbij de eerst techniek-challenge: Faux Frescoes met Lizzie Jones.

Here my first contribution to the Stamp-a-Faire event. Faux Frescoes

I stamped the tree on top of the "faux fresco" in a light grey and than used a water brush an some darker ink to add detail. I used some distress ink in different colours to colour the paste but it is hardly to see on the picture.

Die: PTI - Mighty Oak / SSS - Hello
Ink: Versafine Black / Versafine Smokey Grey / Stampin Up Smokey Slate / Distress Ink (to color the paste) - Tea Dye and weathered wood.
Others: White embossing paste / Spatula / PTI - paper
